(AFP) Nov 21, 2025
HONG KONG, Nov 21, 2025 (BSW) - The FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund ("the Fund") is an important global initiative committed to expanding access to quality education and sports for children everywhere. Supported by MetLife Foundation, a founding donor, the Fund has opened for applications from nonprofit organizations focused on K-12 education. Applications for funding will be accepted through December 31, 2025.

The Fund aims to expand access to quality education, literacy, and sport by providing grants to grassroots programs in over 200 communities worldwide. To initiate efforts towards its goal of raising USD $100 million, MetLife Foundation has been recognized as a founding donor following its USD $9 million contribution to the fund. Additionally, MetLife recently announced a partnership with Global Citizen, supporting the organization's mission to eradicate extreme poverty.

Applications are open until December 31, 2025 to grassroots organizations working to improve children's quality and access to education and sports. Approximately 150 organizations, serving between 500 and 10,000 individuals, will be awarded grants ranging from USD $50,000 to $250,000. The first round of grantees will be announced in early 2026.
