Integral Systems has received a contract from B-SAT Corporation to provide a state-of-the-art satellite control system for their new BSAT-3a satellite based on Integral's EPOCH IPS (Integrated Product Suite). The system consists of both primary and back-up control facilities for the new satellite, as well as providing transponder data distribution systems at uplink locations for B-SAT's major customers. The system also includes Integral's TRECS (Transponder REConfiguration System) for allowing for the rapid development of validated payload reconfiguration procedures as well as Integral's EPOCH Web server. B-SAT currently uses an Integral EPOCH IPS system to operate its BSAT-2a and 2c satellites. "We are extremely pleased with the confidence B-SAT has shown by electing to contract the satellite control system directly with Integral," said Stuart Daughtridge, Integral's Executive Vice President of its Commercial Division. The BSAT-3a contract is another prime example of our ability to provide a proven solution for satellite control independent of the satellite manufacturer and to be able to support that system post delivery and throughout the mission life. B-SAT is a major satellite operator in Asia and we are excited to have earned their trust and their repeat business," he added. "B-SAT operates broadcasting satellites in Japan having a huge number of viewers and B-SAT's important mission is to stably operate the satellites," commented Mr. Osamu Yamazaki, BSAT-3a Program Manager at B-SAT. "Integral's EPOCH IPS system is capable of flexibly handling satellites built by different manufacturers and we expect it will create operating efficiency for us in the near future. "This is the first time B-SAT has directly contracted with a satellite control facility manufacturer but we believe that Integral's close coordination with the satellite manufacturer will make the delivery of the flawless system possible." EPOCH IPS is the only COTS (commercial-off the shelf) satellite control system with a proven capability to operate diverse fleets of satellites (satellites from different satellite manufacturers in the same fleet) from a single satellite control system. Integral also has supplied satellite ground systems to NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy, the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, PanAmSat, Loral Skynet, NEWskies Satellites, Echostar, Sirius Satellite Radio, Binariang Satellite Systems, Shin Satellite Public Company Ltd., SATMEX, GE Americom, Optus, ChinaSat, EOSAT, TRW, ROCSAT (Republic of China), among others.
