Cyber Defense CyberBug Monitors Fairgrounds For County Sheriff
Cyber Defense Systems has announced their CyberBug was successfully deployed on Sunday April 17 for the Charles County Sheriff's Office to monitor the 12th Annual Southern Maryland "Blessing of the Bikes" event held at the Charles County Fairgrounds in La Plata. The CyberBug UAV was utilized as a surveillance vehicle to observe the crowds for unruly behavior, alert authorities about accidents, and note traffic problems in/out of the area. Cyber Defense Systems and its mid-Atlantic reseller Applied Techniques Corporation coordinated the demonstration with the Sheriff's Office. Cyber Defense Systems is an operating subsidiary of Proxity. Lieutenant Chris Becker, Commander, Homeland Security and Intelligence, Charles County Sheriff's Office said, "I was quite impressed with how easy it was to launch the CyberBug and how well it monitored the area. "A tactical operations team member could readily carry it in the trunk of his patrol car and assemble it in just minutes. "Once airborne, the CyberBug immediately relayed surveillance information from the onboard cameras to our field command center. "Besides crowd and traffic control, I see law enforcement using the CyberBug in a multitude of applications especially when it comes to crime fighting and homeland security." Allied agencies from surrounding counties and jurisdictions were also on hand to view the demonstration.
