Japan's new PM proposes East Asian community to China

Japan's new Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama made his global debut Monday with a message of reconciliation to China, asking President Hu Jintao to work together for an EU-style East Asian community.     China pledges to curb emission growth by 'notable margin'

    Chinese President Hu Jintao on Tuesday pledged to curb the growth of China's carbon dioxide emissions by a "notable margin" by 2020 from their 2005 levels.
