Hong Kong (SPX) Aug 14, 2008 Asia Satellite Telecommunications has announced the appointment of Mr. Zhang HaiMing as its new General Manager China. Mr. Zhang will oversee all AsiaSat's marketing, sales and customer relations activities inthe Mainland China market, leading a strong team to continue driving business development and strengthening service support to customers in China. AsiaSat's Chief Executive Officer Peter Jackson expressed, "We are happy to have Hai Ming on board with us, bringing with him a wealth of expertise, marketing andmanagement experience in the satellite sector to continue to grow business and boostour customer service in China, a market that AsiaSat has solid reputation and established presence over the years." Mr. Zhang has over 20 years' solid experience and a distinguished record in the satellite industry. He has worked with Echostar, Lockheed Martin, Skywave TV (an 80% owned subsidiary of AsiaSat) and China Mobile Broadcasting Satellite in various management positions, covering areas in business development, sales and marketing, and operations. Mr. Zhang graduated from Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade (now renamed BeijingUniversity of International Business and Economics) and obtained a Master of International Management Degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.
